What is Suntex Marinas?

SUNTEX MARINA is the leading owner, operator and developer of high-quality coastal and inland marina properties located throughout the United States. Led by a management team with more than 100 years combined experience investing in, acquiring, and operating marinas, Suntex currently employs more than 60 people in its corporate office and over 1200 on-site at its marinas. We operate Liberty Landing Marina in Jersey City, NJ and Marina Jack in Sarasota, FL, both of which have been awarded “Marina of the Year” by Marina Dock Age, so we fully understand the intricacies of operating world class marina facilities.

Is Suntex Marinas a "Clean Marina"?

We believe that marina owners and operators should serve our industry as good stewards of the aquatic marine environment. We have chosen to lead by example. We voluntarily initiated and implemented a set of environmental Best Management Practices (BMP) designed by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to preserve Florida's waterways. These BMPs address critical environmental issues such as sensitive habitat, waste management, storm water control, spill prevention, and emergency preparedness.

Does your marina have dockage available for a catamaran?

Yes, this marina offers wet slip dockage for catamarans. Please contact the Harbor Master for details.

Do you have wet slips?

Yes. We have 130 slips accommodating boats up to 75 feet in length.

Does your marina have WiFi (internet access) on the docks?

Yes, this marina offers OnSpot Wireless Internet service on the docks.

What is the depth of the marina or approach to the marina at low tide?

Currently, the channel depth is 6 feet at low water with a 6-inch tide.

Do you have dry storage?

We do not have dry storage at Suntex Marina - Vero Beach. However, we have several other dry storage marinas in the Suntex Marina family, including hurricane-rated dry storage at Riviera Beach, Lantana, and Miami.

Do you rent boats?

We do not rent boats at our marina. If you are interested in a charter boat, we can assist you with arrangements. Charters may come into our marina to pick up clients. We can also assist you in finding local rental boat companies.

How do I get to Suntex Marina - Vero Beach?

You can access Suntex Marina - Vero Beach by land from I-95 by exiting at SR 60 East and proceeding east on SR 60 until it intersects with Indian River Blvd. Turn left on Indian River Blvd. and proceed about 3 miles to the main entrance to Grand Harbor Estates. Enter Grand Harbor at the main gate and ask for directions to the marina. For added convenience, call the marina at 772-770-4470 and ask for gate clearance to be called in.

You can access Suntex Marina - Vero Beach by water via the Indian River Lagoon just south of channel marker 122. Our sign is at the beginning of our entrance channel.

What are the hours for Suntex Marina - Vero Beach?

We are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week. All Suntex Marina locations are closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.

What do I do if there is an after-hours emergency?

The marina office phones are forwarded nightly to an answering service. The service will contact the harbormaster or another Suntex Marina official in the event of an emergency. If the incident involves an injury or the law is being broken, please dial 911. Additionally, you may call Grand Harbor Security at 772-567-3614. A call to the marina office will also be appreciated (772-770-4470).

What is the closest airport?

The closest airports for commercial air transport are Palm Beach International Airport, about 70 miles south on I-95; Orlando International Airport, about 80 miles north in Orlando; and Melbourne International Airport (Delta), about 40 miles north on U.S. 1. Vero Beach Municipal Airport is for smaller planes only.

Do you allow liveaboards?

Suntex Marina - Vero Beach does not allow liveaboards. We are located within Vero Beach's largest, upscale residential neighborhood Grand Harbor. Single-family homes and condominiums are available for sale or lease. Please check with our harbormaster for more information.

Do you offer new or used boat sales?

We do not offer new or used boat sales at Suntex Marina - Vero Beach. Please feel free, however, to contact our harbormaster for assistance regarding sales, boat rentals, charters, or other leasing opportunities.

Do you sell gas or diesel?

Suntex Marina - Vero Beach sells only ValvTect marine-specific 90 octane non-ethanol gasoline and diesel, offered exclusively at Suntex Marina locations that offer fuel. In fact, we offer our members a discount on fuel. Contact the harbormaster for more information.

Do you sell bait?

We do not sell live or frozen bait on-site. We would be happy to provide directions to the nearest bait and tackle store and secure transportation for you, if necessary. Our Ships Store does carry boating essentials, including soda, beer, ice, and soft goods such as hats, T-shirts, sweatshirts, and jackets.

Are there any good fishing locations near you?

An abundance of shallow water opportunities such as nearby flats, the Intracoastal Waterway, and bridges offer snook, snapper, sea trout, sheepshead, and redfish. Deepwater action is excellent with dolphin, sailfish, grouper, snapper, kingfish, cobia, and wahoo available during different times of the year. Check with your harbormaster or local guides for specifics.

Do you have on-site, pump-out service? How do I arrange for pump-out service?

On-site, pump-out is available free to all members and to any nonmembers for a minimal $5 charge. Contact the marina office or harbormaster to arrange pump-out service.

How far away is the beach?

The beach is approximately 4 miles away. Exit Grand Harbor, turn left onto Indian River Blvd. and proceed south until you come to the SR 60 Bridge. Turn left and cross the bridge. Proceed to the end of the road and enter the parking lot. The beach is directly east of you.

Are there any beaches or islands nearby that I can drop anchor and swim?

Some areas prohibit swimming and anchoring due to marine conservation laws. You may want to review local charts, or check with the harbormaster or local marine patrol officials.

Are there any areas close by to go water-skiing?

The Intracoastal Waterway has designated "NO WAKE" zones that prohibit water-skiing. However, areas that allow cruising speeds may be options. Check local charts for locations or contact the harbormaster.

Are there any restaurants on the water that I can get to?

Several area restaurants are accessible by boat, including:

Directions: Head south on the Intracoastal Waterway and turn right (west) after the SR 60 Bridge and follow the canal.

Are there any fixed bridges in the area? If so, what are the height limits?

There is a fixed bridge about 5 miles to the north, and two fixed bridges and a drawbridge to the south. The two fixed bridges are the SR 60 Bridge, about 2 miles south, and the 17th Street Bridge, about 3 miles south, and both are 65 feet. The drawbridge is the North Fort Pierce Bridge, about 13 miles south, and it is on demand.
